Fifth Halloween Haul of 2016, and small update on Octoberthon list!

Let's get the update out of the way. So I went to Best Buy yesterday (as well as Winco...that haul video will be coming in the next day or two.) to look for horror movies...mainly Halloween. Reason why is because Best Buy has to have the biggest DVD selection around. I've tried all the other stores that have an electronics department but none of them had Halloween...I thought if anyone would have it, it would be Best Buy. Well...yes and no. If I wanted Blu Ray they had all sorts of options. Collectors Edition, Complete Series Set...but no DVDs. So I'm going to have to suck it up and buy on Amazon. Not fun...I did get Halloween 4 and 5 on a budget bundle DVD...so at least I have them! But my changes for the list...

Day 4 will be Ghostbusters, Day 5 will be Ghostbusters 2 (how the heck I forgot my own theme this year idk). I'm undecided on where Halloween 4 and 5 will go though. I might do Day 28 Halloween 2, Day 29 Halloween 4, Day 30 Halloween 5. I have no plans to get Halloween 3 anytime soon unless I find a great deal on it. Halloween 3 was a let down lol...those who have seen it know what I mean...plus I HATE THAT JINGLE!!! Anyways one last thing before we get to the haul, I've been buying hard ciders and pumpkin ales...I'm hoping to find something good. To ring in October tomorrow I plan on having one of these drinks I grabbed...idk which, depends on what mood I'll be in. I'll review it and make some comments on Halloweentown. I think I'll try a drink per night to go along with a movie (not that I have 31 drinks! I have like...10 lol...one of them I've already reviewed.). Hopefully I can find something I like. If not, well it was an experience right?

Onto the haul...I went to Walmart the other day and picked up a few items and I do mean a few...I think this is one of the smallest hauls I've done (excluding the one I did yesterday). So it's short and quick (shortest video yet since I showed off my Fallout Christmas table lol). Oh and to answer my question I asked myself...yes if you buy two cereals at the same time (so you only have one receipt) you get two "points" aka you can get two shadowlights. So far I've gotten all but Toucan Sam, and I don't really think I'll get him...unless I need to buy another box of cereal (I really don't need to).

I hope you enjoy it!

My Octoberthon List

After last year's absolute fail of doing a review on each movie...I said never again. I'm not a good movie reviewer. However if one movie happens to strike my fancy...I'll post about it. Anyways, this year I'm doing the same thing 31 movies for 31 days. I've bought more horror movies so I'll actually be changing it up this year. And I hope before October happens I'll actually have a few more horror movies to add to the list...but in case I don't get to best buy in time lol...or just can't find the movies I'm after, this will be the final list.

1. Halloweentown
2. Halloweentown 2
3. Hocus Pocus
4. Corpse Bride
5. Coraline
6. Rocky Horror Picture Show (or Nightmare Before Christmas if I get it)
7. It
8. The Shining
9. Rose Red
10. Christine
11. Army of Darkness
12. Evil Dead
13. Friday the 13th
14. Friday the 13th 2
15. Friday the 13th 3
16. Friday the 13th 4
17. Nightmare on Elm Street
18. Nightmare on Elm Street 2
19. Nightmare on Elm Street 3
20. Nightmare on Elm Street 4
21. Suicide Club
22. The Grudge
23. The Ring 2 (or The Ring if I can get it)
24. The Village
25. Hellraiser
26. Cabin Fever
27. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
28. Night of The Living Dead
29. Carriers
30. Trick r Treat
31. Halloween (I'm going to get this one way or another...even if I have to watch it on TV -_-)

My order is sorted into movies that go together, like all the family friendly/kid stuff at the start, all the Stephen King movies, then the series, then the Japanese horror, but then it sort of goes off randomly. I just shoved in movies that I haven't seen, or I have seen and enjoyed. I think I'm ok with this...I put in a lot of movies I haven't seen yet so this'll be new for me. I can't wait to get started!

Fourth Halloween Haul of 2016!!

So this was my biggest haul yet and might be the biggest haul for the rest of the year. Target usually is where I get most if not all the limited edition foods/candies. Target just loves limited edition stuff doesn't it?

I'm planning on slowing down on the hauls since I have way to many things to eat and I have gotten most of the stuff on my list...so far the only stuff I have yet to get is:

- Trader Joe's Ghosts & Bats Crispy Potato Snacks
- Trader Joe's Petite Pumpkin Spice Cookies
- Flying Cauldron Butterscotch Beer - World Market
- Mummy Cream Soda - World Market
- Frankenstein Green Apple Soda - World Market
- Bride Of Frankenstein Grape Soda - World Market
- Boulder Canyon Turkey & Gravy and Pumpkin Pie chips - World Market
- Hostess Halloween Cakes (Glo-Balls, Scary Cakes and Chocolate Scream Twinkies) - Walmart or Target?
- Hostess Limited Edition Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Twinkies - Kroger (Which owns Fred Meyer so in my neck of the woods Freddy's should have them?)
- Kellogg's Special K Pumpkin Spice Pastry Crisps - Target
- Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Bourbon Caramel Squares - Target
- Milky Way Caramel Apple - Walmart
- Pillsbury Grands! Pumpkin Spice Rolls - Walmart
- Ben & Jerry's Pumpkin Cheesecake - Walmart
- Brach's Pumpkin Spice Candy Corn - Target
- Kellogg's Limited Edition Thick & Fluffy Pumpkin Spice Eggo Waffles - Target
- Betty Crocker Vanilla Chai Cupcake Mix - (Found at a store we don't have here in WA)
- Pecan Pie M&M's - Walmart
- Kellogg's New Frosted Caramel Apple Pop-Tarts - (No idea since the review sites I use to find out about this stuff DON'T LIST WHERE THEY BOUGHT THE DAMNED THINGS!!! WTF)
- Limited Edition Pillsbury Pumpkin Pie Toaster Strudel - Walmart
- Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme Skulls - (No idea again because no location listed!)
- Mike and Ike Caramel Apple - (No idea)
- Little Debbie Caramel Apple Oatmeal Cream Pies - Walmart

Ok so...maybe I had more on my list then I thought...lol. The Target and Walmart items are only still on my list because the stores around me haven't put them out on their shelves! As for World Market and Trader Joe's, I went to Trader Joe's at the start of the month but they didn't have their Pumpkin/Fall/Halloween stuff out and I haven't been near our World Market so...I couldn't go there yet. The stuff that has no location I'm going to assume they can be dug up at Walmart or Target and as for Kroger and that mix found at a store not in WA...I'm just going to hope I find them locally.

We don't have a lot of choice in stores around here.

We have Fred Meyer, Safeway, Walmart, Trader Joe's, Target, Grocery Outlet and a Winco. That's it. We used to have Albertsons before Kroger bought them out, then we had a Kroger for like...two months (IF that) in the old Albertsons building before they packed up and left. Now we don't even have Kroger. idk what the hell they did but they totally messed up.

Anyways I hope to get all that stuff on my list. Sometimes I find other items not on my list and pick them up if they interest me enough.

Enough of that though, onto my video lol.

I hope you enjoy it!

Third Halloween Haul of 2016!!

I actually shot the video on the 13th but I was lazy and didn't want to edit it. I went today to Target and got a huge haul so I figured I better post this smaller haul first. I'll post the big haul tomorrow or the next day.

I think I've given up on trying to contain spending...which is bad for my computer plans. Oh well...if I wait long enough I might get some deals on Black Friday! >.<

Anyways this video is a mini haul. I went to Big Lots and Fred Meyer and grabbed a few goodies.

Hope you enjoy it!

Adventures in Hard Cider...

So one of my goals this year for the Halloween season is to find a hard cider and pumpkin beer/ale that I can live with. Hard when you hate alcohol lol. But I've heard some beers/ales are very pumpkin spicy...so much so they overpower everything else. And I've heard some ciders are sweet. So far I've tried two ciders and I sort of like one of them.

I tried Trader Joe's Henry Hotspur's Hard Pressed for Cider. God awful. Sour, no apple taste at all...I ended up pouring it down the drain. I expected better from TJ.

But the one I...sort of liked was J.K.’s CuvĂ©e Winterruption Farmhouse Hard Cider. I found it at Grocery Outlet of all places. I only got it because there was a wine tasting going on and the guy running it said it "tastes like that instant hot cider with a hint of alcohol." aka that Alpine hot cider I love so much...yeah not quite. It's sweet and tastes of actual flipping apples (go figure) but the alcohol is still there...it's not as bad but...eh. I had to drink it slow and by the time it warmed up...it wasn't that great. So it's good cold out of the fridge but...not room temp at all. It's not my end all cider...I think I'll go back to GO and get another bottle, and try the "premium" priced one that supposedly tastes like apple pie...according to the wine guy. But I'm still on the hunt.

And I've yet to find any pumpkin ale/beer being sold in singles so I can't taste any of them yet...because I'm not buying a pack of the stuff only to toss it out. My parents don't drink so it would be left to me to drink it or toss it...oh well the adventures continue.

My Decorations

Took some pictures at my messy attempts at decorating...I was going to try to do a zombie theme for my desk since my mood table theme is going to be Ghostbusters...but I realized I didn't have as many zombie things as I thought I did...so it just sort of became random...anything small enough to fit on my desk.

Here you can see my zombie theme starting out. The figures are all Walking Dead related save for the windup. The bigger ones were blind box ones and the small Daryl is actually a keychain...I unscrewed the keychain thing from his head so he's a mini figure now. Got a gravestone and some pumpkins. Pumpkins were from Daiso (Japanese 100 yen store aka dollar store) and gravestone I got from Goodwill several years ago for a buck (price sticker is still on the bottom...heh). Fairy lights are via Home Goods. Windup I can't remember where he's from...yard sale I guess?

Here's a bigger shot. My messy attempts at blurring out my screen...ignore lol.

This gravestone is from Daiso as well. Mini windup guy was from Walgreens last year and the cat he's standing on was from Target last year...jar of slime. Candy Corn candle I covered...Home Goods. Day of the Dead jar is from Target last year...it was in the dollar area but I think it was $3? Grinning cat head was from a yard sale several years ago...he's ceramic but idk anything about him...possibly old? The pumpkin next to that is from the 1960's...got it at a yard sale earlier this year...was $3. The two miniatures in front of that wearing witch hats are from local craft shows. I've had them for years...my mom used to buy a figure for me each time we went to our favorite show...these two are the Halloween related ones I own. The other two cats next to those are from the same sale I got the big pumpkin from...they were a buck each I think? I forget what the pumpkin with a witch hat was from...yard sale or something I'm guessing. He opens up and you can put little things in him...like seriously tiny things...a dime maybe lol.

Now for my lame attempt at hanging lights...these are candy corn lights from big lots. Several years old.

The door to my computer room is great for gel clings. The Happy Halloween and the two bats with it are from Target last year...the rest (save for the keep out) was from a yard sale this year...$1. Really quality things, thick. I think they'll hold up great. The keep out was of course from Dollar Tree...and it's a POS. I plan on tossing it after Halloween. Might keep it up for amusement...tell my parents to leave me alone lol...

And then my mirror...debated about showing this since it's not the best picture in the world...ignore the weird paint on the walls. And no I'm not short...I just ducked out of the mirror so I wouldn't take my picture. Gel clings are from the same set I got at a yard sale...all real quality stuff. Sign...no idea, thrift store? I don't really have places to hang stuff so...yeah that's about the only place I could think of.

Anyways that's my attempt at decorating...I'll post my mood table later on...planning on doing it in October.

Second Halloween Haul of 2016!

I went to Walmart, TJ Maxx and Grocery Outlet yesterday. The last time I was at Walmart they still had their summer and back to school stuff out...but they're finally bringing in the Halloween and Fall items!

I went to TJ Maxx in the hopes I could find these cute vintage Halloween blocks that someone said TJ Maxx carries...no joy. I couldn't find anything remotely vintage themed/looking. And they had even less Halloween stuff then Home Goods! Not a good sign. But I did pick up two items that you see in my video, as well as a very comfy turtleneck sweater...not Halloween related though lol.

As for Grocery Outlet, I only found some purple lights...they had more stuff, including some cool vintage looking "Edison bulbs" but they were a bit pricey and only in black. So I passed.

Anyways I think I'm going to hold off on hauls for a bit...running low on cash. I need to save my money for building a new PC.

I hope you enjoy the video.

First Halloween Haul of 2016!!!

Oh yeah you read that title right! That means haul video time!!!

So yesterday I went to Dollar Tree and Home Goods because I heard/saw they had some cool stuff out. Sadly though Home Goods was pretty much a bust...didn't have the stuff I wanted...I'm still happy I got the things I got but...I need to go back at some point and find the stuff I was after. Also need to go to TJ Maxx (which is just literally in the same parking lot but...my mom wasn't feeling good so we had to call it a day). As for Dollar Tree...oooh they had a LOT of stuff I wanted. But not everything...they're getting ready though, had two empty aisles ready for stocking!!!

Ah and two things to mention...in the video I show off a Keep Out gel cling from Dollar Tree...as soon as I opened it and starting peeling the clings off the K broke...part of the K tore clean off and started another tear as well but didn't come off. I wasn't expecting quality mind you but...damn even Target's gel clings at a $1 are better quality lol...what the heck Dollar Tree? The second thing was I forgot to show off a candy holder I got...I'll post a picture of it in the next day or two along with some of my decorations I've put up so far.

Anyways onto the video...oh and please let me know if the stabilizer that Youtube has is better then my shaky cam...I dislike it but if it makes people less dizzy/sick/uncomfortable when watching my videos...I'll use it.

Hope you enjoy it!!

Hot Cider

Just a little update...to tell you I'm not letting this blog die.

I haven't gotten out to Target or any stores yet because of health issues, but plan to as soon as I'm able. I've heard rumors that Target might be putting their Halloween stuff out now...we shall see. I've also made note of a few other stores I should hit up. TJ Maxx, HomeGoods and Tuesday Morning. I guess they have a ton of vintage themed Halloween stuff...I'm a sucker for vintage looking stuff.

Anyways in the spirit of things I made myself some caramel hot cider (and discovered I'm out of instant hot cider...the stuff I'm drinking is actually a few years old...well let's see if I get food poisoning lol). Basically I took caramel sauce and poured it into the instant hot cider mix and added hot water...I added three big spoon fulls of caramel sauce...I love caramel. I also thought it appropriate to use my big pumpkin mug.

Here's to the Halloween season!

It Begins

And by it I mean of course...the Halloween season!

Yes it's that time of year again...the only time I can be arsed to stop being lazy and actually post on my blog. I don't have any excuses other then just being lazy...honestly. And I can't expect I'll change all that much, but I will at least try to post through now till Halloween with...more frequency then I have been at least. With all the pumpkin spiced snack foods...I'll have no excuse!

So inspired by Matt from Dinosaur Dracula (I do draw inspiration from him around this time...) I thought I'd make a to do list on here of what I need to...well do lol...

1. Food reviews (oh yeah they're coming back)
2. Haul videos? (possibly...depends if Target is going to be good this year)
3. Plan out the 31 horror/Halloween movies for Octoberthon (possibly review one or two but not all of them...screw that idea)
4. Possibly make some recipes, post them on here along with pictures (I have a few in mind...)
5. Mood table (But I don't want to start till October)
6. Show off decorations? (If I can clean up my messy room that is lol)
7. Post pictures of costume (going to a local anime con that happens to be around Halloween...so costume!)
8. Maybe some crafts...

Now being as it's almost 5 am...my brain is in overtired mode so I might have forgot something. I'll look at this later and update it if need be.
